B+W ND106 Neutral Density Filter 77mm [6 Stop ND Filter]

PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) BELOW:

This filter is especially useful when making extremely long exposures (several minutes). It is also suited for video. Filter factor is 64.

Made in Germany using high quality Schneider optical glass held in place by heavy duty brass rings, these filters are the epitome of quality.

This B+W Neutral Density Filter reduces the light by six f-stops. With this filter and without changing the f-stop, a shutter speed of 1/60 s is changed to a full second, thus requiring the use of a tripod. Flowing water is rendered as flowing in the photo, and people moving in streets are dissolved in unsharpness or become invisible. Because of its higher transmission in the red beyond 660 nm, this filter brings a slightly warm tone to color photographs. If this effect is undesirable, a B+W UV-/IR-Blocking Filter 486 in front of the neutral density filter (not behind it!) remedies that situation. The filter factor is 64x.

B+W neutral density filters are made out of neutral gray Schott NG-glass. They block the entire visible spectrum evenly and allow light reduction without influencing color rendition or contrast. Sometimes it is necessary to cut down the amount of light with neutral density filters when working with high-speed films. For example, the B+W 102 filter allows exposures with ISO 400/27 degree film as if it were 100/21 degree film. It is often used to portray a subject against an out of focus background. A neutral density filter comes in handy if you would like to increase the aperture more than the light situation and camera capabilities permit. They are also good for the long exposures which are necessary for a blur-effect or zooming during the shot.

Mini-Review by Edwin Martinez:

This is a great product. The nd106 (6 stops) is great in reducing exposure and slowing shutter. I got this product for over 5 months now from lehboy and the colors it produces are accurate and less magenta cast than the cokin and hoya counterparts.

Packaging is great, it comes with a plastic container and quality of the filter is quite good also. here are some photos i took using this filter.

The use of this filter in daytime around 3-5pm is quite good. To get that slow waves motion, i positioned myself against the light to get the contrast of the sun on this photo. I used the bw nd16 alone on this shot.

This photo on the other hand was taken around 7-8am in the morning, the sun wa salready up and blazing. I decide to use this filter rather than my nd400x since i wanted just the right amount of cloud movements. This filter is smack in the middle of my hoya nd8 and nd400x and when the exposure i want at a certain aperture, i usually turn to the b+w nd106 in a bright day.

Partnering this filter with an nd grad is also a wonder. I needed a longer exposure to keep the river still and decided to use this rather than my nd8. The colors blended well with my singh ray filter, truly the b+w didnt have that magenta cast other filters normally have.

This phot was taken nearing sunset. I positioned my tripod low and decide to use the nd106 and also a reverse grad filter. This is the output.

Hope you guys enjoy this filter! happy shooting!

Orders are usually out for delivery by 9:00 a.m. so expect delivery of your item from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  We usually don’t commit a specific time for delivery since our messengers also have other deliveries to attend to and they have set routes for the day.

If for some reason you cannot receive your item personally since you have to go out of the house/office, please make sure to ask someone to receive the items on your behalf.

8. If I pick up the item/s will the price be the same?

Items are priced the same whether they are picked up or delivered.  However the main advantage of picking them up is you can get the items even after office hours or during weekends.

9. Where are the pick-up points?
