Warranty Concerns
« on: April 25, 2008, 10:45:12 PM »
Hello Everyone!

I just bought a Canon digital camera from one popular store in Manila and just after a few months it stopped working. I have sent it back to the store and have been patiently waiting for the camera to be fixed but to no avail. It's been more than 2 weeks now. It is currently under a 1 year service warranty. What would be the best way to handle this problem? Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

hi RP & welcome to pipho.

when you bought your camera, did you ask whether the warranty was local Canon warranty or just a store warranty? did you get a warranty card with the camera? did the box came with a canon sticker? what was the reason for the delay?

assuming that it has a valid local canon warranty, take it back from the store and go to your nearest canon service center. should it turn out to be a gray unit, prepare to pay for service charges and/or spare parts.

good luck!

yup i would suggest to bring it directly to the service center wag na sa shop baka pagawa lang nila sa mga katabing shops din.

Thanks! I think it's a 1 year service warranty. When they explained to me, if it malfunctions within 1 year, then they'll fix it. Probably Gray because it has no local Canon Phil sticker.

go for Canon service center na lang diretso. its in makati. ok naman yung mga tao dun. and my brother had an experience, na yung p&s camera nila na luma na nasira, tapos when they had it repaired, mahal na. iniwan na lang nila. then after several months, pinalitan ng bagong model ng canon... just wanted to point out that canon service is great here in the phils. naman!
