What's a good match for 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6, and/or
105mm f/2.8 prime

This may help out a little bit.

http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/tc.htm

I've used a Nikon TC-17E on a 105 f/2.8 before and it worked fine. Medyo lang nabawasan ng konti yung pagka-sharp nya.

Teleconverters are best for lenses with an aperture of f/2.8 or larger, so the 18-200mm is not a good lens to be used with a teleconverter.

yup. and the article mentions that a 2x converter only for f/1.8, while 1.3x max for f/2.8 and higher.
