Nice pictures Sir Ronnie. I'm also planning to buy macro lens and considering the price to fit my budget. Try ko lang mag macro. Where and how much did you get this? I tried using extension tube with 50mm but hirap ako sa focusing. :)

@KNJO TY po for the compliment.

I haven't tried using this lens on D300 yet, I hope it will be much more responsive.

@appintado
This lens is really good, sharp and very much cheaper. Pwede rin pang portrait. Di pa ko nakagamit ng ET at reverse ring (my next buy), all I know you have to use manual focus with it. Practice focusing, kasi kahit na naka Macro lens ka most of the time mag ma manual ka pa rin. Ang maganda lang sa macro lens compared to extension tube, reverse ring or other gadget, pag ayaw mo na sa macro field, pwede mo gamitin yung lens for different purpose, but then, somebody might say mas mura naman yung ET, reverse ring, etc. There's a lot of options to try. I bought this lens in Saudi, but I think it is available in Hidalgo, or try to search here in the For Sale thread. Hope this helps.

sir Ronnie, thanks for leading me into this thread. The Tamron 90mm macro is very nice indeed. I'm trying to get used to manual settings but I'm getting the hang of it.

Here's a portrait shot of my Shih-Tzu...

I don't know what to call this... he he he.

@wwonka, from what I've read so far, all Tam90/2.8 versions have the same IQ. Nagkakatalo lang ata sa coating.

@ julezzz: i think nothing beats nikkor glass. looking around, you'll see that the 105mm vr is also a very popular lens. that being said, marami ring good reviews ang tamron 90mm. it's just a matter of choosing which one is for you taking budget into consideration (as always hehe). sure there's a difference, but is the difference worth that much?

just my 2 cents, though :)

...I want a Tamron tuloy! haha
