ARK AVILON - Celebrating (Wild) Life
« on: November 30, 2007, 09:29:42 PM »
Just came from the opening day from Ark Avilon beside Tiendesita's. Good thing for me, it was still free on the first day. Was able to get a number of shots. Unfortunately they are plauged by blur and noise because it was a relatively dark inside. On top of that, it was also an overcast day. And finally, I only had a non-IS, non-L, relatively slow lens. Anyway, hope my pics give an idea of how it looks.  :)

Thanks for the heads up. That's so near my house.

I'll probably swing by tomorrow and finally have some serious shooting with the D300 and see kung kaya talaga :)

@ rspeed: yeah medyo pricey nga ang entrance. if you compare it to the full-sized zoo, it's small. but if you view it as an attraction in the city, its big enough. syempre, there aren't as many animals, but still a good photo opportunity. btw, the 2nd floor isn't completed yet to i'm assuming more animals will be housed there. siguro di mo pa feel yung pagkasulit, but when the 2nd floor opens, pwede na.  :)

@ rheiary: the saleslady told me yesterday lang siya free. i think they're gonna start charging today. and this is a different avilon, its their "extension branch" next to tiendesita's.  :)

I just came from there...

When I saw the exhibit, didn't bother to pay and go in.

Place is too dark and gloomy. I think they need to brighten up the main visitor areas so they don't feel like going in a bodega. P250 isn't worth it. Let's give it some more time.

exactly sir dave! ang dilim and lens with f/4 aperture just wont cut it. Animals are also behind glass so using flash is also tricky. hopefully, they do brighten it up. but i still give them kudos for setting up a new attraction in the city.  :)
