Tamrac Adventure 7
« on: October 29, 2007, 06:47:24 PM »
Hi sirs and ma'ams, I am currently looking for an alternative camera bag for daytrips to house my d40+kitlens, 55-200mm, cleaning kit and charger,   plus a jacket, water bottle, and some small things like a pocketknife, flashlight, pen and some food, and not much else. I do not bring a laptop, and most of the times I bring a tripod. I do not intend to expand my gear, perhap only a battery grip in the near future. I am eying the Tamrac Adventure 7, but how do you find it? Does it protect the camera against drizzles, dust, and occasional bumps? how is the fabric? Is it big enough for most needs? is it comfy? is there a way you can strap on a tripod on the side? any alternative suggestions? Thanks!:)

Hi arjay, i just bought mine last week and i think you can fit everything you said in it. for the tripod, an optional accessory is needed para makabit sa bag though pwede ka naman magimprovise para hindi na kailangang bumili pa. baka gumamit na lang ako ng strap with velcro/button for that. btw, ung kabitan ng tripod ay nasa ilalim ng bag so medyo matrabaho if you plan on letting your bag stand by itself often kasi kailangan mo pang tanggalin ung tripod mo.

hi ponchok, thanks for the reply, I may buy one this week if my budget allows it, so strapping a tripod is out of the question then..
one question, how's the fit in the camera compartment?

hi arjay. I used to own one before, and it fits my D40 just fine. For the accessories you mentioned, there would be no problem with that.

thanks neilc, looks like i may have to downsize my tripod to be able to strap it to the side. I have done some research on the net and found more positive reviews. I am going out of town next week  from now, unfortunately I will be bringing a backpack, so another backpage is out of the question, at least for the trip, I'll be bringing my trusty 5MDH and might as well wear the jacket and use a carabiner to hang the canteen on the bag, thanks!

Arjay, the only downside of this bag is, since its a back *toink* cant get your camera easily when there are moments that you want to shoot instantly, unlike the Velocity Series (tamrac) and Slingshot series (Lowepro) w/c are both slingtype bags. But nonetheless, it is a very sturdy bag and you will definetely love it.
