Here's my samples of the 85 1.4 AIS and Nex5n

just love this lens! It cost me less than the samyang 85 1.4 and it's in great condition so it wasn't a hard decision

Dom, try mo SMC takumar m42 sa Nex mo. Pareho lang daw yon sa Pentax Takumar.Sample shots naman ng 55ais plus vivitar teleconverter macro plus Nex.Nakakainis yong sked ko. Di man lang ako makagpshoot.

Looks like the Vivitar macro converter is a fine piece of Glass. I have yet to try mine.Thanks Dom.

Love the images! How about shooting the 1.4 AIS under harsh lighting conditions? Or extreme contrasty conditions?

My lens point of reference is the Mamiya 645 80mm 2.8, for example like these two images:

Thor, if you shoot wide open the 85 ais , you are inviting some CA. It is something that you need to avoid or perhaps stopped down. I borrowed one 85 ais and I noticed a minimal CA wide open. I just can't find my samples.
I've been looking for that Mamiya that you are talking about but unluckily I can't find one that is a bargain.After developing a taste for MF/legacy glasses, I find myself getting "kuripot" nowadays.The modern glasses are getting out of my reach.

BTW, it is not fair. The Mamiya is 2.8. I bet at that f the 85 ais will have no CA.Kaya? Try mo nga Dom.
