Southern Visions by Dinno Sandoval

Good day Pipho! it's been a while since my last share here and I just got back from a 5-day trip down south and a 6-day trip a few months back. So I would like to take this opportunity to post some of my shots in Mindanao.

Solitude: My Soul & I

(Please click photo for a better view)

While waiting for the sunrise, I was kinda expecting that there will be crepuscular rays because of the thick clouds on the horizon. Luckily my hunch was right, crepuscular rays lit up the sky and the clouds formed like the solitary tree.

An Ode to the Great Tree

(Please click photo for a better view)

My first try at shooting star trails, this was a shot I've been planning inside my head for a long time now. Star trails, iconic landmark and Civil Twilight in one shot. It's just fitting that I did this shot on a place that was shot almost a thousand times giving a fresher approach on this landmark.

Flow of Life

(Please click photo for a better view)

An intimate shot of Hagimit Falls, The contrast between the silky flow of water and the solid dried roots really caught my attention.

to be continued...  :)

Ancient Pillars

(Please click photo for a better view)

Shot at Tagum, Davao del Norte after a fruitful sunrise shoot. Had to go ultra low (camera is just 6in above the ground) and brave the incoming waves just to pull this shot off.

The Domino Effect

(Please click photo for a better view)

When we saw this breakwater in Tagum, we were like kids who saw a jar of colorful candies. It gave us limitless composition ideas but were limited by the fast approaching light and high rising tide.

Oo pre, sobrang hirap nya i-compose kase sobrang daming tao so kelangan ko bumaba para ma-eliminate yung distractions (aka mga turistang nagpipicture-picture sa harap ng falls, haha!)
