For me, it was the wider lenses; 24mm on my old Minolta Dynax

While, I loved the 24mm on my Minolta, I remember it was my mum's late 70's Konica 35mm Rangefinder that got me started.

35/50 on ASP-C/FF

But a 24 1.4 on a FF is special. Shallow [not-too] wides is always pretty mesmerizing.

My first camera was a Canonet 1.9. I believe the lens was 40 or 45 mm. Nowadays, I understand that's the real "normal" focal length, not 50mm (which was known as "the standard" lens back then, and came with most SLRs, until it became fashionable to sell just the body without "standard lens.") Today camera makers provide a kit zoom hehe.

Since I prefer to shoot landscapes, I liked 16mm on a full-frame DSLR camera. That is the widest without becoming fisheye. Also, that focal length is beyond the capabilities of compact cameras.
Lenses: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

55/2.8 Ai-S Micro-Nikkor on my Nikon FM2. My very first lens & cam. Was my do all combo for a few years and learning photography.  :)

2. It's called ASA or DIN...not ISO.

The 12-23 f/4 when I was still using a D90.  And I have to stay the 18-200vr when I was still using D80.  They were such a joy to use.

Now, the 50mm on my D700 is making me fall in love all over again. :D
