CORON: The Land of colors
« on: May 13, 2012, 01:59:01 PM »
After a short stay in Coron last week, I had the chance to once again see nature at its raw beauty. 3 years have passed since my last visit and all I can say is that this place still inspires me. After a long absence in our hobby, I tried my best to renew my passion bringing with me a new system to discover and learn. It was a wonderful experience, all again remembering what it felt like way back 5 years ago. When the excitement was at it's fullest for me.

Let me share some images as my journey unfolds day by day.

Shot on our Day 2 in a public beach. It was low tide and the beach formed tide pools like this.

- I was testing my ND filters with the OMD EM-5. I noticed that the EM5 is a bit sensitive to light compared to my previous system (D7000). This shot was exposed for 2 minutes using a ND400 + BW ND106. Thats a total of 15 stops to be exact. Had to pre-focus before screwing in the filters here.

- A share for today. My favorite shot of the set. This image shows the diversity of the Coron. Clear blue waters, a marvelous golden hour, and an interesting foreground. Unfortunately, this coral is surrounded by sea urchins so I cant go further and had to be extremely careful not to step on them.

Thanks guys! Your comments means a lot.

Here's another share for the night.

-  On our last day in Coron, and on our way back to town. The sky grew red, and clouds came bursting with colors. Red coulds and blue skies. All I could do is hope that when we dock at the port, I can still capture the magnificent show of colors. Well, the show lasted for about 15 minutes. I had the chance to compose although the bangkas were already parked side by side and It was quite difficult to see them because it was already dark.

HOPE OF LIGHT

Thanks for viewing.

- It was a spectacular show on the 3rd day. Rays slowly creep in and the colors changed the mood. I had a hard time composing the shot because the sea was scattered with rocks and corals like this, so I opted for a more simple look.
