oh, it was just an added consideration before taking the dSLR conversion commitment.  ;D

Or even for those not considering the dSLR IR conversion but considering buying the expensive Hoya 77mm R72... if they have a good P&S cam, they might want to consider using that instead with the 58mm filter which is considerably cheaper -may added convenience din kasi as posted on the P&S IR thread you can compose and focus via the LCD -so basically you skip the tedious "compose-focus with AF on-turn off AF-install IR filter-take the shot" sequence for non-converted dSLRs with Hoya IR filters.  ;D

Parang pina isip mo nga ako tuloy - thanks for the info  ;).

best you get a second body.. you don't want to be shooting IR forever. hehe.. or, try mo muna with the filter then weigh it if your passion is really for IR.. kami ni vernes medyo decided na kami. he already has a second body so wala na sha problem.. eh ako, second body ko, p&s... (how sad for me) so I might get a second body solely for IR.. we'll see..

Hey guys, baka naman meron sa inyo na Nikon Coolpix 995 or 5400 na want to sell - i'll cut a 52mm hoya into pcs and replace the hot mirror on those cams - mas madali imodify than a DSLR eh.

I was browsing sir Dave's flickr and im amazed with what my eyes are feasting on. I was wondering how he did this one:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/davedeluria/401697906/
what does he mean by
"Took a shot in infrared "

do you need a lens to do that?
im just so amazed with the photo.

Very inspiring talaga ang works ng mga kuya dito!  I'll buy na nga a filter and do some mid-day shooting.

How much is the going price range of IR filters, particularly the R72?  Did anyone here experience hotspot with a Canon EF-S 17-85mm?  ???

grabe talaga yung price difference from 67mm to 77mm!

R72 77mm is 6,995 sa avenue. That's the cheapest so far na nakita ko.

I called several shops in the Pasig-Ortigas area...  Puro sila out-of-stock for the 67mm R72.  :'(

another pipho member told me na 4.5K na daw yung 67mm sa henry's... sayang 3.5K lang sa booth ni henry's nung photoworld. if kasama ka sa hidalgo EB for newbies sa sat baka makahingi ka ng discount  ;)
