apart from monochrome ano pa ba mga possible na output ng 950nm? so far wala na ako halos napipigang kulay,eh.  :o :o :o

Halimbawa, sa 720nm may leakage yun for the false colors.

Ang 950nm is best for high contrast monochrome images. Looking at your posted images, subukan mo ulit eh post-process, this time add a layer named "Contrast PP". Sa layer na yan, do "Auto Levels" then Fade using Multiply or Soft Light and slowly move the slider to lessen the contrast depende sa taste mo.

Yung test images mo kasi is looking for colors. Try architectural (city scapes in high contrast situations), mountain ranges na madaming clouds, or oceanside rocky formations with dramatic clouds.

ah, ganon ba? so benta ko na ito?  :o :o :o

high contrast...parang wala akong maisip na ganon dito,a...apart from wildlife sa QC...OK lang naman sa akin ang monochrome. gusto ko lang sana malaman is kung tama yun ginagawa ko...

mukhang mahaba-habang trial and error ito,a...

oi! 950nm for sale, 77mm!!!

Rico, depende kasi talaga paano mo nakikita yung eksena eh. Pre-visualization is an essential stage.

Thanks.

Yep, high contrast yung temple scene.

IR results in "false loss of contrast/sharpness".

Remember, sharpness is "micro contrast". Yung light and dark definition ng borders sa pixel level. Kaya I suggested add a layer named "Contrast PP" tapos add the contrast using Auto-Contrast or Auto Levels or via Curves then pwede mo pa add another layer for Soft Light adjustment.

ah, OK...mukhang magagamit talaga yun photoshop skills ko,a... :o :o :o

Yung grain sa D7000 mo, most probably under exposed yung capture. Ok ba yung Red Channel sa histogram? Sa D7000, kailangan mo talaga i-push yung IR 950nm exposure mo sa kanan without blowing it out.

Sa Photoshop kasi, most of my contrast saka sharpening pp sa Luminosity layer ko ginagawa para hindi apektado ang saturation ng image.

Nikkor lens?

4) Nikkor 18-55 both versions, surprisingly IR friendly siya, recommended ko for IR hobby
5) Nikkor 85mm 1.8 HC for IR portraits
6) pwede rin ang Samyang 85mm 1.4
7) Nikkor 105mm 2.5, yang ang long zoom ko sa IR saka panorama lens for wide angle view kasi walang distortion saka walang IR hot spot

@ Jun, clean and crisp! :)

Here's a selective color IR from NEX-3 Broadband with B+W Infracolor 099:

@ Levi,

Yung 18-70, na-mention ko nga sa post ko, gaya rin ng 14-24, yung 18-70 nagkakaroon ng hot spot occasionally depende sa aperture (smaller apertures will produce hot spot, from f/8 and smaller) saka sa angle sa araw.

Hindi grabe gaya ng ibang lente and if you do selective processing sa area na yun, on a Luminosity layer, pwede mong matanggal yung hot spot.

Walang exif data yung image na posted mo, anong aperture yun saka exposure data niya?

@thor
oo nga sir, di ko nga makita yung exif nya. if i remember sir, the exif is:

aperture: f8
shutter: 30 sec
wb: incandescent +3
iso: 100

"small aperture" means from f8-f32 (f32 or whatever is the smallest opening of the lens). As you move the aperture to a higher number, sumasara yung aperture opening

"big aperture" means from the biggest opening of the aperture to about 1-2 stops from the biggest opening. Sa 18-70, f3.5 yung biggest opening niya.

To avoid/minimize IR hot spots, use the widest aperture available, meaning the smallest f-number so sa 18-70, f3.5 to about 1 stop, f5.6 kasi the bigger opening ng aperture, the less the light will bounce around sa loob ng lente saka less chance na concentrated yung tama ng ilaw sa sensor via a small opening.

Sharpening is another way of adding contrast sa IR images.

@downset,

you should try wider aperture, from f8 to f5.6 or wider. It will lessen or eliminate the hot spot but will soften your image.

Get an 18-55mm, which is better in IR, no hot spot at landscape shooting apertures (f8-f16)

i agree with you sir. 18-55 is way better than 18-70 for IR. yun kasi gamit ko before at talagang smooth yung result nya
