what's a good macro lens to start with? aside from the reverse technique, what's the cheapest legitimate macro lens to start with?

i satisfied with my set up 50mm 1.8D + raynox 250 macro conversion lens.. you can also try this or make it an option.

reverse ring - 300
manual ext. tubes - 600
close-up filters - 1200 - 2500
auto ext. tubes - 4k - 6k
raynox DCR 250 (for DSLR) - 4k - 6k
raynox MSN 202 (for compacts) - 4k - 6k
macro lens (tamron 90, canon efs 60, canon 100 usm, nikon 105 VR, canon 100L, canon 180L, etc.)

i think if ever i'll get the tokina 35mm or the tamron 90mm i'll just wait for a good deal=) brand new from what i found so far is around 15-17k

Haven't really used it (just tried) but I guess it can be used for indoor sports.

Just tried the Macro EF 100mm f2.8 at 11th Toycon @ Megamall! Galing! Fast, tack sharp at creamy yung bokeh! Coming from D90 and switching to 7D I can say the output can go side by side with Nikkor macro 105mm f2.8!

(special thanks to gamerboy for lending it to me kanina) ☺☺☺
