they are charging 3.2K for the repair.  At that price bilihin ko na lang yung naka post sa board na 8.5K baka lemon pala lens na nabili ko.  It's from ArtS but he got it from Geebee.  Btw, Geebee has been helpful all the way its Red Dot na medyo di maganda kausap

A failed FW update attempt bricked the lens. I don't see how they are responsible for that unless the FW is actually faulty.
Pretty sure most of us here already updated to FW1.2 without a glitch.

that is just waaay too much! kausapin mo dapat yung manager nila dahil hindi ka nila dapat singilin sa unit na within warranty pa. that is just absurd!

the camera did update to 1.2 without a hitch but after the FW upgrade, the lens just went blank.  I can use the camera with other lens

i wouldn't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to get the same results since you will still be using the same lens (sans the AF) on the OMD since the controls are pretty much the same and you will actually get more magnification and working distance due to the 2x crop

Grabe naman to, looks like Reddot is slacking and basta na lang nila ibababa ang verdict to charge you 3.2k for the repair. Natatakot tuloy ako na baka masira OMD ko, ganito din ang sapitin ko.

Hmmm question are firmware upgrades part of warranty? Meron kasing mga electronics alam ko navovoid yung warranty kung nagfirmware update ka due to possible bricking nga so parang upgrade at your own risk. And upgrades not done by distributor/seller or those that provides the warranty, if failed, is deemed as negligence on the part of the user. Di ko pa kasi nababasa yung fine print eh so di ko din alam kung ano covered ng Red Dot warranty. Any of you guys know about this?

sa samsung galaxy ganyan..they don't tolerate firmware upgrades kaya tama yung "upgrade at your own risk"
kasi idadahilan nila malamang sayo eh good unit naman yang item mo when we hand it to you. optimum performance kumabaga..
