Noli Gabilo
BS Electrical Engineering, 1989

Noli Gabilo harks from Batanes and through his lens, places what he calls home, into the world map. A traveller at heart he seeks to capture the places he visits with respect yet with a perspective uniquely his own. A teacher at heart he seeks to impart that vision to those only too eager to sit and learn from the master.

Noli Gabilo’s technical expertise in the field of photography has been long-established, and most of his works are immortalized in various coffee-table books, travel and in-flight magazines, promotional billboards, calendars, postcards, academic journals, among others. He also held one-man shows in different venues across the archipelago as well as internationally, including at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC and the College of William and Mary in Virginia, San Diego, California. Some of his photos are also permanently displayed at the Ulan Restaurant in Salamanca, Spain.

Adding a feather to his cap are numerous awards from various photography competitions. One prestigious award he received was the DoT Kalakbay Award for Best Travel Photo of the Year in 1997. Last Novemebr, his coffeetable book on Baguio Centennial was launched. Another coffeetable book on colonial churches of northeastern Luzon will soon be seen in print.
Currently, he is finishing a photo documentary on major activities of the Philippine Military Academy and the life of a cadet while in the academy.
